The Andy’s Master Mind is almost complete. The final refinements include a more intuitive user interface and a smarter solving algorithm.
Next to come the downloadable APK for beta testers.

Here it is! The first screenshot of Andy’s Master Mind is finally available.
As you can see, the game features the classic five holes and nine colors configuration.
Two game modes are going to be available: player guesses the code and Andy guesses the code. This way it’ll be possible to test one’s own performances against a perfect player.
Stay tuned for more news!

Today I have developed my first line of Java-Android code.
The writing is almost straightforward and the documentation is very clear. I hope to show the first significative screenshots of Andy’s Master Mind Challenge within a couple of days.
Keep your breath waiting.

Selfshot
I’ll begin with a simple puzzle game: Master Mind.
It’s a game where the player has to discover a hidden code, given a few clues. I noticed that the MM clones available in the Android Market are quite poor, so I’ll try to do better.
I think to add the possibility to play against the phone to make the matches more interesting.
Further news about the development of this little game will be available in the next days.
Thinking about a nice game to develop for my Samsung Galaxy, a puzzle that I developed several years ago came to my mind. In the game a sheperd has to heard a flock of sheeps from one location to another. There are several obstacles to avoid, such as wolves for example, and a number of tricks to learn.
I think this is going to be an interesting project to learn the development of the Android platform.
The first thing to do is to find all the resources, images and sounds, and to convert them for a device smaller that a PC.
I’ll publish more news about this game soon. Keep in touch!
Ok. I’ve finally got this Android thing. My Samsung Galaxy has already shown the problems that all its owners describe: a battery with a very short life when all the devices are on, and an outdated Android version. The advantage was the price, quite low compared to all the features included in the terminal.
Now it’s time to develop something for it. I’m thinking of a few nice utilities and small games, but this is another story.
First I’m going to install the development environment. When I develop in Java, I usually write my code through the NetBeans IDE. However, it seems that I have to install Eclipse and the Android SDK.
The installation seems almost straightforward and the documentation is quite clear. Then I’ll read some tutorial to see which is the fastest approach to develop in this new environment.
During the next days I’ll update the blog with my achievements. Stay tuned!
